Revenant, Straw Cowboy Hats, Made From Palm, Bangora and Shantung

Revenant brand Straw hats. Perfect for the summer time or any day you want to wear a hat.

These hats are pre shaped and cannot be shaped differently than shown in the picture. If you order a hat band, braid or cord with the hat we can sew it on directly to the hat or tie them on so you can change them out to match your outfits.

Made from palm, bangora and shantung straw. 

Read the following advice on how to choose the right type of straw hat for your needs, you can wear them wherever and however you want, these are just some general guidelines:

Palm, the work hat.

Material: Woven from the natural leaves of the palm tree.

Durability: Exceptionally tough and naturally water-resistant. They hold up incredibly well to sweat, sun, and rain.

  • Key Feature: Highly shapeable. You can dunk a palm hat entirely in water, shape the crown and brim to your liking, and it will stiffen up exactly as you want it when dry.
  • Feel/Weight: They tend to be heavier and slightly warmer than traditional straw hats.
  • Bangora, for work and going to town.
  • Material: Created from high-density paper or plant fibers rolled into yarn and tightly machine-woven (often with acrylic for strength).
  • Durability: Very tough, budget-friendly, and resistant to breaking or fraying. They handle heavy sweat and dust well without losing their shape.
  • Key Feature: Machine-woven with a highly uniform pattern, making them very consistent in quality. They typically feature excellent ventilation. 

  • Feel/Weight: Lightweight and stiff, though slightly heavier than fine Shantung.
  • Shantung, for more formal events.
  • Material: Made from high-performance, tightly rolled paper.
  • Durability: The most elegant and delicate of the three. While durable enough for daily wear, it is not meant to get soaked in the rain.
  • Key Feature: Often double or triple-dipped in a protective, glossy coating. The look and feel is high-end, hand-woven natural straw but with a much more polished finish.
  • Feel/Weight: Extremely lightweight, breathable, and refined—making it the top choice for dressier, formal, or social summer events.
